New tool: the Continuous Body Fat Visualizer

Open the visualizer

What does 15% body fat actually look like? And 25%? Most charts show a handful of photos of different people, so you end up comparing bodies, not body fat.

Our new Continuous Body Fat Visualizer shows one body changing smoothly, from very lean to very high body fat:

  • Slide through every percentage, from 7% to 55% for men and from 9% to 55% for women.
  • Three age ranges (20–30, 31–40 and 41–50), from the front, the side or the back, or all three at once.
  • The five body fat levels (essential fat, athletes, fitness, average and obese) explained, with the one you're looking at highlighted.
  • Press Autoplay to watch the whole transformation.

It's also a way to find out where your own body fat stands without having to upload a picture of your body: find the body that looks most like yours and read its percentage.

It's free and needs no account: open the visualizer.

Want a precise number? A BodyWHAT scan estimates your own body fat percentage from a photo, and you can follow how it changes from one scan to the next.
